Installing an elevator is with out a doubt, the hardest part of construction. Unfortunately most contractors do not understand or explain the process in an adequate fashion. If you want more detailed information, these are the steps to install an elevator. There are 2 components to any elevator install. The company which makes the car provides the elevator car and the rails but does not design or create the shaft or manage any of the electrical, plumbing, engineering, fire safety, or ADA requirements. We can assist with all of the above. If a contractor tells you they are not sure what is involved, please call us because we are sure and we will give you the details. If you are not aware of 3 phase power, EPA requirements for sumps pumps and pearl weave safety mesh then you need a professional to give you appropriate information. If you are not aware that an elevator can be ADA compliant but not fire code compliant you need to give us a call.
Installing an elevator is easy! You need a management team capable of following the rules for the ADA, Fire Marshall, City and TDLR. A good management team will save you money in the long run and will make it a lot easier on you.
We handle all the steps which includes digging the pit and adding plumbing.
We also frame the shaft and deal with the MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) which your building will require.
Once all the components are ready the elevator car company of your choice will install the rails and the car.
Above a very important picture. Ask your previous contractor about the running man, lumens in and around the shaft, and fire extinguisher distances. We assume that you want to pass your TDLR inspection the first time. Let us help you do that. For more details about the steps involved click on the steps to install an elevator.
If this seems like a lot please give us a call.
